We’re expanding and currently looking for a Configuration Manager (m/w/d) to join and strengthen our team in Hamburg, Germany.

In this role, you will take responsibility for Configuration Management and Engineering Change activities within an Airbus-related aerospace environment.

You will act as a central point of contact for configuration-related topics and coordinate closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, program management, suppliers and customers.

Your focus will be on ensuring that configuration baselines, technical changes and associated documentation are properly assessed, coordinated, implemented and traceable throughout the product lifecycle.

The position offers a high degree of autonomy and ownership within an established project environment.

Your responsibilities

• Manage Configuration Management activities within Airbus-related projects
• Coordinate engineering changes from initiation through assessment, approval, implementation and closure
• Ensure completeness, quality, consistency and traceability of configuration and change documentation
• Prepare and coordinate changes for Change Control Boards (CCB)
• Coordinate technical, industrial, planning, cost and customer inputs related to engineering changes
• Act as a central interface between engineering, manufacturing, quality, program management, suppliers and customers
• Monitor configuration baselines, applicability, modification status and associated technical documentation
• Support aircraft modification, customization, production and delivery configuration activities
• Identify configuration risks, inconsistencies and dependencies and coordinate appropriate corrective actions
• Monitor relevant KPIs and support workload and performance reporting
• Contribute to continuous improvement of Configuration Management and Engineering Change Management processes
• Ensure continuity and reliable execution of established Configuration Management activities within the project

Requirements

Required:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a comparable technical field
• Minimum 3 years of proven practical experience in Airbus Configuration Management
• Experience with Configuration Management and/or Engineering Change Management
• Experience working with complex technical products and multidisciplinary engineering environments
• Good understanding of configuration baselines, product structures, technical documentation and change processes
• Ability to independently coordinate configuration-related topics
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills
• Fluent English; German is an advantage

What you bring

Hands-on Airbus Configuration Management experience is essential for this position.

You have already worked in an Airbus-related configuration environment and are comfortable handling configuration and engineering change topics independently.

Experience level

We value relevant Airbus Configuration Management experience over a specific number of years.

You do not need to have a long-standing senior or lead profile. What is important is that you can independently handle the core responsibilities of Configuration Management and quickly take ownership of the topics assigned to you.
