Job Description

As Director Corporate Development & M&A, you will play a pivotal role in shaping innovative and forward-thinking opportunities that define BMG’s next chapter. You will work closely with the BMG Executive Management Team, senior leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders to turn high-priority opportunities into decision-ready plans and measurable value. This role reports to the VP of Corporate Development.

  • Translate decisions into aligned, actionable implementation roadmaps.

Deliver priority outcomes: Structure, mobilize, and drive internally- and externally-focused value creation initiatives in close collaboration with cross-functional, international teams, including:

  • Own the execution of internal transformational initiatives to realize organizational change.
  • Lead the development of new growth platforms via corporate innovation (e.g., the development and application of AI technologies across global teams), partnerships (from identification to implementation), and strategic M&A (from opportunity sourcing to financial, strategic, and commercial assessment).

Steer strategic progress: Support effective governance and shareholder alignment, including:

  • Develop, implement, and support effective mechanisms for internal governance.
  • Prepare regular shareholder engagement materials covering the latest market developments, their implications, and BMG’s business priorities.

Qualifications

  • Your Status: You have 4–6 years of professional experience, ideally in a top-tier strategy consulting firm (equivalent to Senior Associate / Consultant or junior Project Leader / Engagement Manager level) or an equivalent high-impact corporate strategy/M&A role.
  • Industry Passion: A strong passion for innovation and digital media; prior experience in the entertainment or music industry is a plus, but not required.
  • Analytical Skills: Outstanding problem-structuring and qualitative/quantitative analytical skills, combined with impeccable attention to detail.
  • Communication: First-class written and verbal communication skills with full fluency in English; proficiency in an additional language (such as German or Spanish) is a plus.
  • Stakeholder Management: Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to successfully manage senior stakeholders and exert influence without formal authority.
  • Mindset: A highly autonomous, proactive, and entrepreneurial mindset, complemented by robust organizational skills.
  • Adaptability: Proven comfort with ambiguity and the flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Collaboration: A track record of collaborating effectively as part of high-performing teams.
