Eligibility/Qualification
- PhD degree in Microbiology, Life Sciences, or related fields.
- Strong background in microbiology, particularly bacterial engineering (including targeted and random mutagenesis), Tn-seq, omics (RNA-seq, metabolomics), and bioinformatics.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken), as it is the working language in the lab.
Job Description
The selected postdoctoral fellow will investigate how the intestinal environment affects bacterial metabolism and physiology by studying model gut microorganisms and the gastrointestinal system of Drosophila. Working with genetic tools, high-throughput sequencing, and sophisticated bioinformatics will be possible because of the project’s multi-omics techniques. With competitive compensation based on the 13 TV-L German pay scale, the role is scheduled to begin in March 2025 and last for two years, with the possibility of an extension.
