Guide and Lead

For a special project we are looking for an empathic and inspiring figure who can connect people and concepts of the newly established school in collaboration with an international experienced team.

In a wonderful and very special place in the middle of nature, about 20 minutes away from the centre of Bordeaux, we are creating a learning place that not only offers daily inspiration for an international community, but also a home in an inspiring environment.

To this end, we are looking for an experienced social counselor who will work with us and the learning community to build a very special place of collaborative, self-led and holistic learning based on the Guide and Lead principles. The learning community is a made up of a Japanese community connected to the principles of sustainability, circular economy and regeneration.

Skills

As self-leadership is our root concept at Guide and Lead, we expect applicants to be able to reflect on themselves in terms of these skills:

You are self-organized, self-directed and find necessary tasks yourself
You can organize yourself well, know how to set priorities, and translate a vision into action.
You are able to pause, listen, change direction, when necessary, act and react in an agile way.
You are open to learn, to keep developing yourself, to grow through challenges, for yourself and together with others.
You have experience in communicating innovative ideas in education also to traditionally thinking representatives of public authorities.
You are familiar with the requirements of French education authorities and even have contacts or a network in France. Fluency in French or Japanese is a special trait of yours.
You are creative and experienced enough to skillfully navigate around administrative pitfalls.
You have international experience or experience in internationally diverse communities
You have lived in different parts of the world before or have had other experiences with international communities.
You are aware of your own culture, cultural biases and socialization and are open to learning and engaging with others.
You are interested and/ or familiar with the Japanese (learning) culture.
You feel connected and aligned with Guide and Lead philosophy and root concepts and approaches.
