What You'll Do

  • Deliver clear-to-build status, material coverage, run-out reports, and other analyses as needed to plan engineering builds
  • Collaborate with suppliers during design meetings to monitor designed components, evaluate their complexity, and ensure supply chain considerations are addressed early
  • Act as the primary interface with suppliers on delivery status, issues, and resolution
  • Escalate to commercial or technical partners when required (procurement, accounts payable, quality, engineering, etc.)
  • Drive commercial cost negotiations with suppliers to ensure Tesla receives the best possible pricing and leverage cost models and analysis of current market conditions
  • Monitor current market conditions and technology roadmaps to proactively identify and address any supply challenges and to determine future business opportunities
  • Document component cost and work with Finance to track BOM cost in different program phases


  • What You'll Bring

  • At least 2 years’ experience in material sourcing, manufacturing, finance, or supply chain management
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in supply chain, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or similar discipline
  • Knowledge of Material Requirements Planning / Enterprise Resource Planning ( MRP/ERP) with a solid understanding of discrete prototype manufacturing, bills of material, product lifecycle management, procure to pay processes and supply chain operations
  • Proven experience in the management of high volume engineering builds
  • Demonstrated understanding of product release cycle as it relates to the creation and change management of parts and BOM structures
  • Ability to prioritize with a high sense of urgency, adapt to a fast-paced/dynamic environment, and act as a self-starter with strong attention to detail and ownership
  • Business level fluency in English, German language skills are a plus
