Core tasks


Guest Relations: Act as the main point of contact for our guests, answer questions, handle complaints in an empathic and solution-oriented way, and support guests with any issues during their stay


Check-In & Check-Out: Manage check-in and check-out processes efficiently and professionally


F&B Service: Prepare and sell drinks, coffee, and snacks to guests, ensuring quality, cleanliness, and proper handling of all equipment


Guest Experience: Inform guests about in-house services and events and provide recommendations about the city


Cash Handling: Handle cash and perform cash-ups with diligence


Administration: Take care of administrative tasks as part of daily reception workflows


External Contact: Act as an initial point of contact for partners, suppliers, neighbour, and authorities when needed


House Rules: Ensure adherence to house rules and address issues proactively


Complaint Management: Respond to complaints promptly and aim to turn challenging situations into positive experiences


Stay up to date: Keep yourself informed about relevant updates, events, and operational changes in the hostel


Required competences


Hosting Mindset: Passion for hospitality and creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests


Language Skills: High proficiency in English and German


Social & Communication Skills: Ability to engage with guests openly and professionally


F&B Skills: Ability to prepare drinks, coffee, and food professionally using the provided equipment


Detail Orientation & Hygiene: Careful handling of food and drinks, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to hygiene standards


Responsibility & Initiative: Take ownership of guest interactions and proactively solve problems


Teamwork: Support colleagues across departments and contribute to a strong team spirit


Resilience: Ability to stay calm and composed in busy or stressful situations


Organizational Skills: Strong prioritization and time management abilities


Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with office tools and property management systems


Flexibility & Openness: Adaptability and openness towards different cultures and situations


Our offer


A gross salary of EUR 13.90 per hour
