Your Responsibilities

As the Head of Genotyping you will be responsible for one of the laboratory departments focusing on our genetic testing services. Your role will require leadership, ensuring goals related to our testing services (quality, compliance, delivery reliability, cost management) are met, and innovative thinking to streamline laboratory processes.

• Manage and supervise the diagnostic genetic services at Centogene
• Manage and supervise a laboratory team of 20 Scientists and laboratory technicians
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to innovate the test portfolio and streamline the lab processes
• Stay current with developments in technologies for genetic testing and ensure the department is equipped with the latest tools and techniques
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, guidelines and quality standards (e.g. ISO15189, GCLP)
  
  

Your profile

• PhD in Medicine or Biology with a focus on genetic testing
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a medical laboratory for genetic testing
• First leadership experience, ideally in an international environment and strong communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective techniques for genetic testing
• In-depth knowledge of genetic techniques (Sanger sequencing, MLPA, Chromosomal Microarray), knowledge in next-generation sequencing (NGS) is a plus
• Familiar with laboratory requirements according to ISO15189
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
