PhD Position - Biomedicine, Bioinformatics (m/f/d)- Universitätsmedizin der Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz

Our research team in the Experimental and Translational Ophthalmology Department at the University Medical Center of the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz has extensive experience in basic research in the field of Ophthalmology. We are interested in understanding the underlying mechanisms leading to retinal and ocular surface diseases, such as Dry Eye Disease, AMD and Glaucoma.

We offer a PhD position in Biomedicine and Bioinformatics. The research will focus on clinical and proteomic data in ophthalmic diseases, including glaucoma, longitudinal analyses, as well as lateral flow and microarray data analyses.

Activities And Responsibilities

• Statistical analyses/evaluation of longitudinal/translational data
• Study design
• Programming (AI)
• Database maintenance and clinical data management
• Participate in general management of the lab
  
  

Qualification profile

• Diploma or Master's degree in computer science or bioinformatics
• Scientific background
• Lab experience is not required
• Knowledge of SQL/Python
• Experience in network administration
• Proficient in English
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and within a team
