About The Project
We are creating the world’s most realistic human and animal avatars for use in research, film, virtual reality, and medicine. Using unique 3D & 4D capture facilities, machine learning, computer vision, and advanced graphics, we are modelling every nuance of how humans and animals look and move. We develop algorithms to estimate human shape and motion in images, videos, RGB-D sequences, etc. Our approaches define the current state of the art. The Data Team is working closely with computer vision researchers to create unique data sets. This includes collecting human subject data at our capture facilities, web-based data extraction, and working with commercial and academic data sets.

Requirements:
Students without a Bachelor’s degree will earn €13,80 per hour. Students holding a Bachelor’s degree will be paid €14,40 per hour. An initial contract will be offered for up to six months. Roles & Responsibilities
You will work within our Data Team. Your responsibilities may include:
- Collecting and curating different types of data (images, videos, 3D scans, motion capture, etc.)
- Using, developing and enhancing software tools to facilitate data processing
- Assessing the quality of data and working with researchers and engineers to improve algorithm performance
- Implementing research code from recent publications
- Other tasks related to current research projects at the department, depending on your skillset and interests
Requirements:
- Enrolment at a German university, NOT in the last year of your studies
- Good time management, organizational and planning skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English since you will be working in a multicultural English-speaking team
- Experience with Python
- Experience with computer vision or graphics
- Experience with machine learning
- Familiarity with web development and/or scraping
