Our Key Account Managers see themselves not just as sales professionals, but as strategic partners operating at eye level.

We take full commercial ownership of our accounts, manage complex sales processes, and work in close alignment with internal teams such as Bid and Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Service.

Your Responsibilities

  • Strategic Account Development: You design and implement mid- and long-term strategies to increase business opportunities with our key accounts. You maintain trusted customer relationships, negotiate framework agreements, act as a brand ambassador for our company, and serve internally as the key contact for translating customer needs.
  • Market Intelligence: You gather and analyze market information to support our marketing and product development teams and to strengthen our competitive position.
  • Pre-Sales Engagement: You create targeted presentations and translate our product portfolio into customer-specific solution proposals. You manage the pre-sales process and advise both direct and end customers in refining their requirements.
  • Core Sales Activities: At the heart of your role: You actively drive sales success with our customers, acquire profitable deals, manage contract reviews and negotiations, and identify as well as pursue upselling opportunities.
  • Internal Stakeholder Management: You collaborate closely with Bid Management to ensure competitive offers and support management in continuously challenging activities with a focus on customer value.

Your Skills

  • Solid Expertise: You have strong technical understanding based on a university degree or a technical apprenticeship, combined with several years of professional experience in sales. Experience in selling software or software-based systems is a plus.
  • Strategic & Analytical Thinking: You are able to analyze market trends, evaluate sales data, and derive actionable insights to optimize sales strategies. You develop and implement effective sales approaches tailored to the rail industry.
  • Customer Interaction: You are creative and authentic when it comes to offering our customers the best products and services.
  • Personality:
    • Your positive, open, proactive, and highly motivated mindset helps you drive continuous improvement, exceed customer expectations, and build long-term relationships.
    • You are a strong communicator, confident, a true team player – and passionate about delivering customer value and driving sales success.
    • You are well-organized and present yourself in a professional, reliable, and trustworthy manner.
  • Willingness to Travel & Flexibility: You are open to regular business travel and can adapt flexibly to changing requirements.
  • Language Skills: You have fluent, business-level German and English skills.
