Airfreight Manager (m/f/d)

Key responsibilities:

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise all airfreight activities to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery
• Manage relationships with airlines, company branches, ground handling agents, clients and customs brokers
• Negotiate rates and contracts with air carriers and third-party logistics providers
• Monitor shipment status and proactively resolve issues such as delays or damages
• Ensure compliance with international air transport regulations (e.g., IATA, LBA, customs)
• Prepare and analyze KPIs, reports, and budgets to evaluate performance and identify improvement opportunities
• Oversee operations and documentation processes including air waybills, customs declarations and invoicing
• Support improvement of air freight relevant structures
• Identify and develop new sales accounts and promote company’s air freight services
• Manage and train staff involved in airfreight operations

Skills, knowledge and expertise:

• Completed vocational training as a Freight Forwarding Agent (Speditionskaufmann/-frau)
• Over 10 years of experience in the air freight and air charter industry
• Strong technical and market knowledge, as well as industry insights
• Ability to manage and motivate teams as a subject matter expert
• Self-motivated, a solutions-oriented mindset, with technical and commercial out-of-the-box thinking
• Excellent communication skills on English, both verbal and written
