The Controller is responsible for accounting duties to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results. The position is responsible for organizing, directing and controlling the work of accounting personnel in collecting, summarizing, and interpreting financial data for the use of management, creditors, and taxing authorities. Directs budget and cost controls and accounting practices. Helps develop forecasts for proposed projects, measures actual performance against operating plans and standards and interprets the results of operations for all levels of management.

Your Responsibilities Will Be

  • Preparation and review of monthly financial performance (revenue, operating profit and cash). Prepare monthly reconciliations and journal entries to assure accurate financial information is generated and proper internal controls are in place in accordance with
  • U.S. GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, and CECO Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance to management supporting strategic decisions, capacity planning, capital requests, revenue/cost/margin and variance analyses, physical inventories, operational metrics, ERP systems, reserve requirements, and other management objectives.
  • Close alignment with Business Director and various project leads on the preparation of project financial analyses and status reports throughout the life cycle of projects.
  • Preparation of the monthly Percentage of Completion (POC) and WIP schedule that drives cost and revenue recognition for the business.
  • Conduct ASC606 reviews for customer purchase orders.
  • Drive migration of the business to the D365 ERP system platform, provide post go-live support, and act as the business subject matter expert.
  • Pricing and cost modeling and project cash flow analyses for customer quote preparation.
  • Interface with HR and Sales management on commission calculations, tracking, analysis, and support.
  • Provide FP&A support including preparation of all forecasting requirements including the annual budget, monthly forecast updates, weekly financial updates, and the strategic plan.
  • Provide oversight and quality control for transactional processes (order entry, purchase orders, invoicing).
  • Ensure that all statutory reporting requirements and deadlines are met.
  • Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of internal controls and procedures.
  • Provide financial and accounting leadership, due diligence, and post-acquisition integration support for special projects.
  • Analyze financial and operational information to determine the most efficient use of resources and capital. Provide strategic recommendations and solutions to the senior management team.
  • Actively participate in initiatives and special projects as required by senior management, segment leadership, and corporate.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. Master’s degree in Accounting, MBA, or CMA is preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of public accounting and/or project or manufacturing experience is required.
  • International accounting experience is preferred.
  • Management experience in leading accounting professionals and interfacing cross-functional teams is desired.
  • CPA or local equivalent advantageous
  • Well-developed ability to multi-task and prioritize with strong attention to details.
