Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Support children during learning sessions, quiet time, lunchtime and outside play
- Work with the educator to provide safe, learning experiences for the children while under your supervision
- Reinforce rules and behaviors of the learning environment during inside and outside activities
- Ensure children’s safety at all time
- Encourage all children to behave in a respectful and polite manner
- Model expected behaviors
- Assist with Early Check-in and/or Extended Day Care supervision in the group room and on the playground
- Participate in weekly meetings with the Head of Kindergarten and educator
- Assist children as needed
- A high proficiency in spoken and written English
- Ability to build effective and professional relationships with children, parents and staff
- Ability to communicate confidently and effectively with children and adults
- Ability to manage time effectively with a positive and flexible attitude
- Ability to take initiative and manage a situation calmly
- Hold high levels of motivation and a commitment to high standards
- Have some knowledge of technology in the learning environment (PC, Interactive Whiteboard, Tablet, Apps etc.)
- Demonstrate personal warmth and enjoyment of working with young children and adults
- Having experience working in schools or kindergartens is an advantage
