The PEARL Lab at TU Darmstadt invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position in Robot Learning, as part of the ERC-funded SIREN project (Structured Interactive Perception and Learning for Holistic Robotic Embodied Intelligence). This project seeks to develop advanced methods for enabling robots to understand and adapt to their environments, focusing on structure, prior knowledge, and physical grounding to achieve robust and generalizable behaviors in real-world scenarios.
Requirements
– Doctoral degree (PhD) in robotics, computer science, artificial intelligence, or a related field
– Demonstrated expertise in at least one of the following areas:
– Robot learning and modular control
– Geometric learning
– SE(3)-equivariant models
– Generative models (dynamics, policies)
– Grounding and representation learning
– Foundation model distillation (e.g., VLMs, LLMs applied to robotics)
– Interest in interdisciplinary collaboration and willingness to contribute to adjacent research topics
– Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team
– Experience in supervising junior researchers is an advantage
