Overview

For FUJIFILM’s European Procurement Corporate Operations Division we are looking for a

Strategic Buyer (f/m/d)

About The Role

This full-time position will be primary located in Ratingen and will report to the European Head of Procurement FE(DE).

You drive continuous improvement in supplier performance in the areas of cost, quality and delivery, through the development and execution in the areas of IT, trade goods and facilities with the goal of developing suppliers, which support overall purchasing and business objectives.

You will have overall sourcing and supply base management responsibility within applicable regional and local strategic spend categories including benchmarking suppliers on cost and capability to assure overall competitiveness. In addition, you lead cross functional teams for projects relating to purchasing initiatives. Therefore, the ability to interface/collaborate with other cultures in Europe and Asia is a must.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute an annual strategic plan (supplier strategy) to address the following areas:

  • Initiate and / or execute the necessary procurement activities and implement these in close cooperation with European internal customers.
  • Analyze the spend of the European Fujifilm business domains and related departments, investigate the details behind these data within Europe and based upon that analysis, advice on the procurement activities with highest financial impact.
  • Demonstrate leadership and develop commercial opportunities by constantly growing knowledge of sourcing landscape, technology solutions, legal, compliancy requirements and business needs.
  • Ensure the development of strategic purchasing plans driven by internal client requirements, distribution, logistics objectives and business economics.
  • Implement measurement systems that clearly indicate the performance level of the sourcing strategy and supplier effectiveness. Maintain focus on added value, lowest total “life cycle” cost and cost savings.
  • Drive the sourcing process, lead sourcing, define and support Master Services Agreement, Statement of Work development, and analyze/evaluate rates to optimize supplier engagements.
  • Lead cross-divisional business teams including European and local teams incl. employees from Legal and Finance in the successful implementation of strategies, contract negotiations and project planning.
  • Strong negotiation skills demonstrating ability to translate potential contractual risk into desired outcomes.
  • Drive process efficiencies and eliminate waste.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor and / or Master’s degree combined with at least five years of procurement experience.
  • Proven expertise in the implementation of successful procurement improvements.
  • Good commercial and analytical skills.
  • Experienced to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Some travel up to max. 5 - 10% within Europe.
  • Experienced in SAP MM, MS Office, Project management
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English and German.
  • Ability to work in a diverse environment
  • Successful, 5+ years track record in a strategic buyer function.

  • Ability to work independently, to make action plans, set milestones.

  • Result oriented and able to create good reporting in English.
  • Ability to adapt to different European cultures.
