Internship – Software Development in AI for Manufacturing (all genders welcome)

Digital transformation is revolutionizing manufacturing at Audi – from intelligent production planning to automated quality control. Our team, AI Manufacturing, is at the forefront of this evolution. We develop innovative software solutions that combine cloud technologies, artificial intelligence, and especially Large Language Models (LLMs) and Computer Vision to make production processes smarter, more efficient, and more sustainable. As part of our interdisciplinary team, you’ll work on real-world projects with direct impact on manufacturing – such as using LLMs to automate technical documentation or applying computer vision for visual inspection and defect detection.

Job Purpose/Role

Contribute to the development of intelligent software solutions for Audi’s manufacturing domain – with a focus on cloud-native applications, LLMs, and computer vision

Support the deployment and maintenance of robust applications on cloud technologies (e.g., Azure, AWS), ensuring secure, scalable, and high-performance infrastructure

Work on AI-related tasks such as building data pipelines, integrating LLMs (e.g., for chatbots, semantic search, or text analysis), or implementing computer vision solutions (e.g., image classification, object detection)

Collaborate in an agile, dynamic team and help shape the future of smart manufacturing at Audi

Key Requirements/Skills/Experience

You are enrolled in a Master’s program in a STEM field or a comparable discipline

You enjoy programming (e.g., Python) and are motivated to expand your skills

You have experience deploying applications on cloud technologies (e.g., Azure, AWS) and container technologies (e.g., Docker)

You have a strong interest or initial experience in working with LLMs (e.g., Hugging Face, LangChain) and/or computer vision (e.g., OpenCV, YOLO, Detectron2)

Ideally, you have worked on projects related to manufacturing, Industry 4.0, or smart factory environments
