How You Can Contribute
- Translate business requirements into innovative environmental data solutions that enhance our product offerings
- Design, implement and optimise backend algorithms and services in Python in close collaboration with frontend developers and fellow data scientists
- Define, implement and maintain data products in the field of meteorology and hydrology based on a detailed analysis of customer requirements
- Integrate large-scale, high performance data management systems and design efficient ETL processes for seamless data processing
- Automate operational tasks and streamline development processes through CI/CD pipelines and related tools
- A degree in Computer Science, Natural Sciences, Environmental Sciences, or a related field (MSc/PhD)
- Proven professional experience in scientific data processing, preferably within the environmental sciences
- Strong programming skills in Python and experience in software engineering best practices
- Familiarity with data management systems, ETL pipelines and modern data architecture
- Ability to analyse complex requirements and translate them into scalable, maintainable technical solutions
- Team-oriented, proactive, and capable of working independently
- Excellent communication skills in English, German is a plus
