Country Head Value and Access, Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine Germany / Management Board Member

Position Summary

The Country Head Value & Access will play an integral part of the Executive Board of Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine Germany. The role will report directly into the Managing Director and Chairman of the Executive Board. The position is with critical strategic importance and business impact within the operating company as it is responsible and accountable for delivering and sustaining optimal, timely market access and pricing for J&J Innovative Medicine`s portfolio of products (including current and pipeline products) and hence is directly impacting the top and bottom-line financial results of the >3bn USD NTS operating company.

You Will Be Responsible For

  • Define and implement comprehensive market access strategies to maximize product value and ensure optimal reimbursement. This includes specific focus on strategies within Market Access, Pricing & Reimbursement, Innovative Pricing Solutions and Real-World Data generation in alignment with business objectives and in collaboration with key stakeholders, such as regional and global teams, to develop and execute pricing and reimbursement strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Responsible for HTA, Pricing, Early Products, Regional Access Wholesaler/Hospital business and Patient Affairs delivering results for the commercial success of the whole portfolio. The role is responsible for key account management, negotiation and contracting between J&J and all buying customers as an important part of the distribution and financial success of our portfolio
  • Close collaboration with Market Access teams and relevant functions within J&J Germany, EMEA and Global to develop winning market access strategies and enable optimal coordination across the product lifecycle, including infrastructure and implementation of local requirements in global product and study planning to secure the future J&J growth and success.
  • Building and maintaining trustful relationships with key external stakeholders for all in-Market products, new launches, and line-extensions to ensure business success and improve NTS results.
  • Close collaboration with Market Access teams and relevant functions within J&J Germany, EMEA and Global to develop winning market access strategies and enable optimal coordination across the product lifecycle, including infrastructure and implementation of local requirements in global product and study planning to secure the future J&J growth and success.
  • Developing, adapting and active communication of J&J’s view on sustainable financing of innovative drugs with focus on Value Based Health Care, Flexible Pricing Solutions and Real-World Data collection
  • Leading and coaching a highly diverse team of approx. 100 employees across all value and access functions (access strategy, HTA, pricing, key account, contracting, patient affairs, etc.)

Qualifications / Requirements

  • University degree in Business Administration or related discipline
  • Focus on Health Economics or Healthcare Management preferred
  • Advanced Degree or MBA preferred.

Experience & Skills

  • 10+ years’ of demonstrated experience in pharmaceutical industry, sufficient to have developed a deep understanding of the local, regional and global payer and market access environment
  • 6+ years of experience in Health Economics, Health Policy, Market Access and/or Pricing & Reimbursement in a highly regulated market like Germany
  • Proven leadership across diverse teams with a strong ability to influence, coach, and drive impactful outcomes.
  • Track record of managing complex, high-budget projects under tight deadlines with precision and compliance.
  • Strong cross-functional collaborator across commercial, medical, regional, and global teams, demonstrating inclusive leadership and broad followership.
  • Relentless execution mindset—focused on speed, simplicity, and results.
  • Competitive mindset combined with a humble, learning agility. Track record of successful integration of data science and GenAI in daily work
