As a Failure Analysis Engineer you will be part of the Device Analysis and Characterization Services (DACS) organization that provides world-class total solutions to resolve problems across TI’s worldwide organizations, enabling internal business partners and TI’s customers to succeed. This position provides the opportunity for learning both semiconductor wafer fabrication and assembly processing while interfacing with Design Engineering, Product Engineering and Customer Engineering.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Providing timely and accurate physical failure analysis on Analog semiconductor devices
  • Performing bench level electrical verification/fault isolation on integrated circuits to determine root cause of failure
  • Performing circuit analysis, ability to work from schematic diagrams and layout
  • Responsible for managing the failure analysis process in conjunction with personal skill set development
  • Working with cross-functional teams (Design/Product/Process/Quality) and other engineering groups
  • Must become proficient in a variety of failure analysis techniques and equipment operation
  • Writing detailed failure analysis reports

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent qualification
  • Experience in bench testing using electronic test equipment
  • Strong desire for hands-on work in a laboratory environment including strong attention to detail
  • Manage complex problems and ability to multitask effectively
  • Excellent judgment skills required for accurate identification of defect locations
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills in English, written and spoken

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fundamental principles of electrical testing, knowledge in analog design tools or the ability to work from schematics / layout are of advantage
  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
  • Ability to take the initiative and drive for results
  • Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
  • Ability to work effectively in an interrupt-driven, fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data from the customer input and link them to the problem-solving process
  • Ability to take the initiative and ownership for implementing solutions that improve product quality
