Your tasks

  • Scientific and organizational coordination of our in-house disease modelling core
  • Management, supervision and training of specialized technicians
  • Performance, development, implementation and standardization of new small animal surgery and phenotyping methods with high quality standards
  • Generation and management of genetic mouse lines (experimental planning, organization of breeding, ensuring of proper husbandry practices)
  • Planning and organization of preclinical and translational in vivo studies
  • Communication with authorities and academic and industrial collaborators

Your Profile

  • You hold a University Degree (or equivalent) in veterinary, biology or medical sciences
  • You are experienced in animal surgical and phenotyping techniques (in particular cardiac surgery and imaging)
  • You value animal welfare, are familiar with the 3R principles and act accordingly
  • You have experience with genetic small animal models and understanding of genetic techniques such as the Cre-LoxP system and CRISPR/Cas9 technology
  • You have experience in coordinating scientific research projects and regulatory affairs related to small animal models (mainly mouse models)
  • You have an independent and reliable way of working, outstanding communication skills and team spirit
  • You have a high level of commitment, flexibility and strong sense of responsibility
  • You must be fluent in English and preferentially in German (not a prerequisite but of advantage)
