Role Purpose

  • The role is accountable for the architecture, roadmap and development decisions of network products, connectivity services and functionalities integration in line with Vodafone IT & Digital strategy assuring best practices and optimizing the business value.
  • Works in a team, close to the Product Owner following the Agile methodology to transform the Network infrastructure and drives architectural coordination of complex and non-standard design aspects required to build physical and logical infrastructure across on-prem Datacentres and public clouds. This includes analysis of requirements and matching them with key Network products and architecture capabilities such as security, reliability, high availability, load balancing and redundancy.


What You’ll Do

  • Acts as technical authority for decisions pertinent to network technologies, product, solutions or software, translates the overall vision in target architecture and corresponding solution, reference designs, product specifications
  • Communicates with different stakeholders and with business to give direction, analyze demands, perform feasibility, provide valaidated inputs on business case development, provides technology and architecture recommendations
  • Recommends product or customized solution as appropriate to balance speed and quality in delivery, supports the actual deployment and implementation including standards and management of exemptions
  • Assures solution compliance to security, privacy, and regulatory needs including impact assessment of risks and business value
  • Recommends network technologies, automation frameworks and digital enablers evolution, supports the migration planning and software development to evolve legacy environments into new modernized archtiectures and capabilities.


Who You Are

  • Strong background and experience in network services. Broad understanding of IP protocols at all layers of the stack and extensive experience with routing, firewall, network virtualisation and switching technologies, Public and private cloud IaaS and PaaS product engineering models and technologies, e.g. (Openstack, AWS, Azure)
  • Network knowledge and network management experience in large scale Datacenter environment (e.g. Cisco ACI networking and various SDN technologies)
  • International experience and background in a complex business environment essential as well as ability to work across an international and distributed team in a complex business environment, fluent English
  • In-depth knowledge of IT, DC technology and process standards, well developed technical knowledge across a broad range of IT topics, Data-driven decision making, Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree or technical institute certificate in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field, Network Professional Certifications at Expert level.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to motivate and inspire others, able to deal with customers and employees, Deep network knowledge essential being able to lead the technical aspects of a Data Centre network
  • 7+ years of work experience in designing, developing, deploying and / or administering Network infrastructure solutions at the expert certification level, Strong verbal and written communication skills
