- Develop and implement DFA strategies to optimize product design for high-efficiency assembly and automation
- Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, and Process Engineering teams to ensure designs are suited for automated production
- Plan automation concept handover for realization & monitoring of the realization of the assembly concept, follow-up control
- Conduct design reviews, feasibility studies, and cost-benefit analyses for automation integration
- Identify and implement design simplifications that reduce part count, assembly time, and material waste
- Utilize CAD, simulation, and DFMA tools to evaluate and improve product designs
- Stay updated on industry trends, new automation technologies, and best practices in DFA
- Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance assembly line efficiency and reduce defects
- Provide training and mentorship to design engineers on DFA principles and best practices
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in DFA, DFMA, or automation-driven product design
- Strong knowledge of design principles for automated and manual assembly
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, or AutoCAD)
- Experience with DFMA tools
- Familiarity with robotic automation, PLCs, and industrial automation processes
- Fluent English, German nice to have
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Experience in automotive, aerospace, electronics, or consumer goods industries
- Knowledge of Industry 4.0, digital manufacturing, and smart factory concepts
