Overview

We are seeking a dependable and technically skilled Level 1 IT Support Engineer to join our onsite IT support team in Oberhausen. The ideal candidate will deliver hands-on, first-line technical assistance to end-users and help maintain smooth daily IT operations at the client’s site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite first-line technical support to users, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and peripheral issues.
  • Set up and configure IT hardware such as desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Support Microsoft Office 365 applications including Outlook, Teams, Excel, and Word.
  • Log and manage support incidents using the internal ticketing system.
  • Escalate unresolved or complex technical issues to the Level 2/3 support teams.
  • Carry out routine maintenance and daily IT checks.
  • Work collaboratively with remote IT teams on tasks and minor projects.

Must-Have Technical Skills

  • Windows OS Support – Skilled in troubleshooting Windows 10/11 environments.
  • Hardware Troubleshooting – Proficient in diagnosing PCs, laptops, and related peripherals.
  • Microsoft Office 365 Support – Confident supporting end-users with Outlook, Teams, and Excel.
  • Basic Active Directory Tasks – Able to manage user accounts, resets, and permissions.
  • Ticketing Systems – Experience with service desk platforms such as ServiceNow, Freshservice, or Zendesk.

Nice-to-Have Technical Skills

  • Basic Networking Knowledge – Understanding of IP addressing, DNS, and DHCP.
  • LAN Testing Tools – Familiar with using cable testers or basic network diagnostics.
  • Mobile Device Support – Experience supporting Android and iOS in a business environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in IT or desktop support roles.
  • Strong troubleshooting capabilities and a customer-first mindset.
  • Fluent in English and German (C1 level) — both written and spoken.
  • Ability to work independently and professionally in a client-facing environment.
  • Familiarity with standard IT infrastructure and user support practices.
