Area of responsibilities:

• Research, assess, and validate the potential of emerging technologies, materials, and computer simulations for product development
• Establish design and engineering guidelines for the application of new technologies
• Develop manufacturable concepts in collaboration with Manufacturing and Purchasing, and hand over to Detail Engineering for finalization
• Support the front end of product development by leading feasibility exploration and contributing to the Structured Design Framework (SDF), with a focus on innovation and concept refinement
• Work closely with the management team, program managers, and other departments to drive innovation and execute strategic objectives
• Take ownership of engineering deliverables to ensure high-quality, first-time-right product development, with project management responsible for timeline tracking and coordination
• Conduct testing evaluations and risk assessments at key project milestones, securing the necessary approvals
• Continuously review and prioritize activities to align with product development plans
• Stay up to date with industry trends, competitor innovations, and market advancements to maintain a competitive edge
  
  

Profile of qualification:

• Proven experience in advanced engineering, product development, and innovation leadership within a high-tech or manufacturing environment
• Strong background/ experience in technology scouting, material science, and computer simulation applications
• Excellent project management skills with a experience of successfully leading pre-engineering and feasibility assessment projects
• Ability to collaborate effectively across functions, including R&D, Manufacturing, and Purchasing, to drive product success
• Analytical mindset with expertise in risk assessment, testing evaluations, and structured design frameworks
• Fluency in English; German language skills are an asset
