About The Role
We are looking for a working student to join our established EU carbon markets analyst team in Karlsruhe as a Junior Quantitative Analyst.
As a junior analyst, you will help us shape our European carbon market analytics activities with a key focus on data management and visualization, trading behaviour research, and fundamental market modelling. Overall, we are looking for students who have a strong interest in the energy transition and environmental markets, as well as a true passion for programming and working with data.

About The Role

Main Responsibilities
- Develop and implement analytics/data visualization tools on our platform (e.g. Market indicators, Price forecasting…)
- Support key projects with data handling and programming (e.g. cross-commodities database)
- Research trading behavior of EU ETS compliance players
- Programming experience is required in Python and SQL
- Strong communication and writing skills in English is a requirement
- Comfortable handling and visualizing large data sets
- Strong problem-solving abilities, enjoys working in a team, takes initiatives
- Interest in the energy and environmental markets
- Bachelor or master’s in industrial, financial, data engineering or comparable fields of study

- Mentorship and learning on-the-job alongside experienced quantitative and qualitative analysts on key market fundamentals (e.g. EU ETS) and programming tools (e.g. PostgreSQL, Git, Docker, …)
- Regular interactions with other energy teams (e.g. Power, Gas, LNG)
- Exposure to key players in the European energy markets
- Working flexible hours - flexing the times when you work in the day to help you fit everything in and work when you are the most productive.
